Place detail
Parco di Villascema
A wide area at the foothills of Linas mountain range, crossed by the stream Leni, flowing into the vast artificial basin downstream.
such is the park of Villascema, hosting the most varied species of Mediterranean maquis.
The prevailing species is ilex; thanks to the cool and shady climate it lives in, it ensures pleasant summers.
The park is famous for the widespread cherry trees extending over the valley. In spring, it is covered by a delicate white colour, later replaced by a bright red of the ripe fruits, excellent to taste on the occasion of the Cherry Fair, taking place on the first Sunday of June.
The park may be the point of departure for pleasant walks to reach wonderful mountain areas, waterfalls and high peaks.
