Itinerary detail

A jump from Oridda – Piscina Irgas

A hike that is highly suggestive for a landscape characterised by many different types of plant life and conformations of granite of unusual beauty, the backdrop to one of the most imposing waterfalls of the Massiccio del Linas massif.

he itinerary begins at Cantina Ferraris at 367 metres a.s.l. in the Parco di Monti Mannu and follows the path 113 that pushes through a dense holly oak wood after having crossed the rio Cannisoni river. There are certain portions along the path which allow for a view of P.ta Magusu at 1023 metres a.s.l. e P.ta Acqua Zinnigas at 1136 metres a.s.l.

While climbing alongside the stream, you will encounter narrow passageways, huge granite masses and ponds immersed in abundant greenery to then reach a panoramic viewpoint at 600 metres a.s.l. from which you will admire the waterfalls from above.

After that, follow the downhill path that is occasionally facilitated by steps and wooden handrails leading to the foot of the Piscin’Irgas waterfall, the water precipitating from a height of about 40 metres, flowing along the bottom of the gullies, forming an entire series of wells and small falls before converging with the Leni stream.
