Introduzione alla vita di Giacomo Scarbo

The Sardinia filtering from the pages of the Introduction to Giacomo Scarbo’s life often looks like an archaic island, wrapped in the fascination of an ancient mythology, where characters move and live according to the rhythms of a world thoroughly related to farming tradition, nature, hunting, the family.

The Scarbo household is the main character, in the person of little Giacomo, his father, the Earl Scarbo, the young and sweet Alina, the Earl’s second wife. Two worlds are compared, that of nobility and that of farmers. It is right the appeal of the latter that Giacomo, still a child, feels; through his glance, the reader perceives the many details and evocative feelings of the farming culture and its activities: vine farming and wine-making, timber cutting, olive harvesting and milling.
